Well, Dave and I did it! We saw some amazing great white sharks - twice they jumped straight out of the water to attack their breakfast - a sorry seal. We both got in the cage, but unfortunately it wasn't a good day to view from that spot. Instead, we saw most of the action from the deck. Visibility in the water wasn't great - it was cold and windy, but the water, even at 52 degrees was not cold at all (thank heaven for wetsuits). The sharks tend to "hang out" around an island that has 45-60 thousand seals and 12 penguins. Pretty cool, but REALLY STINKY! There was a gentleman on our boat filming for Shark Week on the Discovery channel. He placed a camera (decoyed as a seal) in the water to get a photo of a shark coming up to grab it's prey - he had been trying for 2 weeks to get the shot and finally did! Shark Week will air in the US in July. Pictures to follow soon - I need an adapter for the "disk."
